Mentor Program   |   Mentor Registration   |   Mentee Registration

Dear Alumni Band Members,

We are currently seeking Mentors for the Alumni Band Association Mentorship Program. Mentors are needed that can assist in mentoring current Marching 100 band members, offering advice, answering questions, and providing information about other opportunities on career endeavor.

The mission of the "Marching 100" Mentorship Program is to provide an opportunity for current "Marching 100" students to connect with Mentors who are knowledgeable about their instrument, profession, or discipline in order to ease the transition through college and future endeavors. The program is to promote goals, career advancements, life endeavors, and etc. of current Marching 100 members.

Mentors are Alumni Band Members who wish to help meet the needs of current Marching 100 members. Interested Mentors are asked to fill out a short application regarding their interests (academic and co-curricular) in an effort to best match them with a current Marching 100 member. By volunteering your time, energy and knowledge about college life, Mentors can contribute enormously to the success of a current "Marching 100" member by helping them become acclimated and integrated at FAMU, the Marching 100 and career endeavors. The Mentor plays an integral role, assisting the Band Staff in communicating with mentees and being a role model for them so they can successfully complete college. A Mentor will attempt to contact their mentee twice a month on Mentorship related activities or life events. In addition, Mentors will try to meet with their mentee during "Marching 100" performances and events (Football games, Homecoming, band practices, band camp and etc.). At these events, the Alumni Band Association will try to capture a photo of the Mentor and their mentee and post on the Alumni Band website. Mentors with be matched with a current Marching 100 member based on information received in their applications.

If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a Mentor fill out a Mentor Application or contact Victor Gaines (vgaines@marching100alumni.com), Jamaar Brundidge (mentorship@marching100alumni.com), or Reson Konchellah (rkonchellah@marching100alumni.com) by email.

Jamaar Brundidge
