Marching 100 Alumni Band Association

Percussion Challenge

The Florida A&M University (FAMU) percussion section has initiated a new instrument project. Dr. Shaylor James, the head of our FAMU percussion section, has expressed interest in purchasing a new line of Pearl Drums. This new look will provide our 2021 marching band percussion with Pearl Drums. As we partner with Pearl Drums, we are considering the following: (16) snare drums, (6) high tenors, (4) tom-toms, (8) marching Quint’s, and (12) bass drums.

Pearl has historically produced very fine tuned and durable drums, performed by school bands, as well as universities throughout the world. These drums will not only enhance our multiple percussion sound, but also provide a new look, as our university athletics programs moves to the SWAC. The Marching 100 will be poised and ready for the new rivalries and Rattlers, who will be poised to create the energy for our teams.

To make a difference, we rely on the support of generous individuals and businesses. We would be most grateful to you or your company for considering providing a donation. Your support is critical to the completion of our project, and we will gladly keep you updated regarding our progress.
