FAMU Homecoming 2015!

Homecoming is in the air, and we're looking forward to seeing you in Bragg Memorial Stadium on Saturday, October 17th!

A lot of work has gone into the planning of the weekend's events, and we are in preparation mode, so get those horns out, do some stretching, and let's get ready to give Bragg a performance that they won't forget!

You should be receiving your music packet via email within the next week. It's the same as last year's, but we are adding a few new tunes. Please send an email to if you have any questions!

The particulars:

  1. You MUST be CURRENTLY financial with the Marching 100 Alumni Band Association, Inc. This is from the music department, and the Association wholeheartedly supports this decision. It's impressive looking out onto the field and know that all who are marching are true supporters of the FAMU Bands!

    Eligibility: If you are 5 years from your freshman year in the "Marching 100" (Fall 2010 and earlier), or have graduated, and are not currently an undergrad at FAMU, you can march with the alumni band, provided you pay the registration fee, are financial, and have the right uniform.

    Registration Fees: Registration starts at $60, and goes up from there. This year's registration has to be paid by ALL who are participating (even Life Members). The basic $60 registration includes your homecoming shirt and hat (both new), and the refreshments for Friday and Saturday (meeting and tailgate). YOU MUST HAVE A GAME TICKET to gain admittance into Bragg Stadium.

    Non-financial Member Package:

    • Package #2N ($290): Homecoming shirt (new), homecoming hat (new), a warm up, the Foster Memorial (1919-2010) shirt, refreshments, plus your $100 membership dues and tailgate. CHILDREN eat free. (If your child eats as much or more than you, or has a driver's license, etc., then they need a ticket). NOTE: an online transaction fee is added at checkout.
  2. You must purchase your tickets through the Association, or we may risk losing a portion of our seating area if we have not paid for enough tickets. Single game ticket packages are $45, which includes your game ticket, refreshments for the weekend at the game, and a donation to our scholarship fund. If you are a season ticket holder, please let us know by September 15! We are sitting in Section J (same as where the visiting band usually sits and no, Delaware State University will not be bringing their band).
  3. You must be in the OFFICIAL uniform for the alumni band in order to perform. The green alumni band warmup, along with the Foster memorial shirt (for the parade), NEW hat, and the homecoming shirt (NEW), along with white sneakers.
  4. Deadline to purchase any parts of the uniform that you don't have is September 16th. After that, we will place our final order for ALL homecoming merchandise. It's a tight schedule, but we want to make sure we are as accurate in our purchasing as possible. We will not be ordering extras, so make sure you place your order by then in order to get your correct size. No uniform, no zish.
  5. For those of you who play sousaphone, euphonium, mellophone, percussion, or are a member of the flag corps, the band is able to accommodate you this year. Percussion will need to present membership card to Dr. James in order to check out any percussion instruments. We need others to assist with the other instruments. The KING sousaphones are going to be available, and you will need your own neck and bits. Euphoniums and mellophones will need their own mouthpieces, and percussionists will need their own sticks and mallets. If the instrument you checked out is broken, you are responsible for repairing it. Please make sure you take care of our instruments!
If you are paying for ANYTHING by check (except dues), it must be received in the Tallahassee PO Box by no later than September 16, 2015. We won't be accepting checks for any 'nalia or tickets after that date. If you choose to write a check to us, we will be more than happy to mail your 'nalia to you after homecoming is over or when the check clears, whichever comes first.
